Founded in 1960, Lorraine is a modern, youthful town. Its residents enjoy its tranquility, the quality of life it offers and its proximity to major urban and tourist centers. Lorraine is the only town in Canada where the majority of public services (electricity, telephone, cable) are underground. La Maison Garth, a heritage site, hosts many exhibitions. Nearby, cyclists and pedestrians alike can tour along the Route Verte next to Rivière des Mille Îles. The Louis-Saint-Laurent Center is a hub of musical discoveries, where varied activities take place. This town received a rating of 3 Fleurons from the Fleurons du Québec’s horticultural beautification program for municipalities.
