Come enjoy an intriguing fusion of traditional arts with dance and early music. You will see and hear sarabandes and 18th Century baroque gigues alongside traditional jigs and reels from Québec. To these are added traditional and historical songs. The performers are renowned Baroque dancer, Anne-Marie Gardette; the fantastic jig dancer, Pierre Chartrand; and their very talented oldest son, Alexis Chartrand on violin. For this special event, they will also be joined by Alexis’ two sisters: Lysandre (voice), Rosalie (jigs), and Louis-Philippe Pharand (voice, accordion, flute). An extraordinary show with dancing, music and song!

The BEV & MARC DUO combines percussion and strings to offer a new performance dynamic to the audience. There is a strong visual and aural presence resulting from two unique approaches to playing two very different instruments. With 2017 Prix Goyer Winner and violin virtuoso Marc Djokic, and one of North America’s superstar percussionists, Beverley Johnston, BEV & MARC perform popular marimba and violin repertoire and also adapt and arrange other pieces for uncommon instrumentation that even includes the musical saw!
