A wildlife refuge
Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Iles now offers the chance to discover the river in three concrete ways from a single site, thanks to its new Exploration Centre. Firstly, by learning, through a visit to the museum space featuring the "Incroyable mais vrai!" exhibition, highlighting the history of the Rivière des Mille Îles, its vast ecosystem and its environmental issues.
By observing; with a visit to the ecology laboratory, where several living species are represented and where you can learn about the work carried out by the park team in the natural environment.
Finally, experience the islands of the archipelago by kayak, canoe, paddleboard, pedal boat, rowboat, rabaska and aboard the Blue Heron cruise ship.
In winter, the river experience can be enjoyed on foot, on snowshoes, on cross-country skis or by taking part in an ice-fishing activity at our village equipped with traditional or new-generation cabins.
