A unique mythological universe in the heart of the Upper Laurentians

From the tale of the malevolent fisherman to that of the great black train that collects the souls of crooks and scoundrels, the Municipality of Lac-Saguay invites you to discover a unique mythological universe in the heart of the Upper Laurentians.

Nine original legends, created by personalities from various sections of the Québec cultural scene including: Bernard Assiniwi, Claude Gauthier, Jean-Claude Germain, Mgr Jean Gratton, Roger Langevin, Gérald Larose, Francine Ouellette, Hélène Pednault and Louise Simard. The legends are presented on panels and add more than a tad of the fantastic to sites already rich in cultural, heritage and environmental values.

Among the sites attached to the circuit of legends, you can discover Parc Georges-Painchaud in which you will find a magnificent sculpture by Roger Langevin representing a lumberjack. Entitled "The Big Six-footer ," this folkloric character was created in 1960 by Claude Gauthier, a Québec singer/songwriter in the troubadour tradition, and one of Lac-Saguay’s better known citizens.

Also, at the park entrance, a column known as “Morris de la Route-du-Lièvre-Rouge” provides recommendations for a prolonged visit to Lac-Saguay and the location of its nearby heritage sites.
