Tourisme Laurentides is pleased to invite you to take part in the "En route vers sa certification durable" cohort. GreenStep's sustainable tourism certification is accredited by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). It is designed for tourism businesses and destinations wishing to demonstrate a rigorous commitment to sustainability.

📢So we're looking for companies to form a group that will be able to do their business certification in sustainable tourism in a lean way and at a reduced rate. The launch of the cohort is scheduled for the week of January 19, 2026.

In line with the Ministry of Tourism's sustainable development action plan 2023-2028 (MTO, 2024)1, and the UN's sustainable development goals (UN, 2023)2, Tourisme Laurentides is positioning itself as a leader to accompany its members and partners, as well as the entire tourism industry of the Laurentian’ region in the planning and implementation of responsible, sustainable and innovative initiatives. This enables the region to be proactive and resilient in the face of today's environmental, social and economic challenges, and to distinguish itself as a destination of choice for customers seeking memorable experiences.

Tourisme Laurentides commits to a sustainable, world-class approach with GreenStep
Guided by the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2030, as well as the GSTC criteria, Tourisme Laurentides has signed the Commitment to Sustainable Tourism 2030, to guarantee its commitment to continuous improvement of its organizational performance and activities in terms of sustainable development. As such, Tourisme Laurentides is committed to sustainable development by following specific strategic axes to bring economic efficiency, social equity and responsible environmental integration to the destination.
In the short term, Tourisme Laurentides aims to achieve the following objectives:
1. Positioning the destination and structuring the offering
Position the Laurentian’ region as a four-season sustainable tourism destination recognized for the quality and originality of its world-class offering, through the adoption of a Laurentian Sustainable Tourism Development Strategic Plan and concrete actions for sustainable development, such as certification of the Laurentian organization and destination by GreenStep, based on criteria recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
2. Business intelligence
Inform, sensitize and equip tourism organizations and businesses on trends and findings in the tourism industry, particularly in terms of sustainable development, by developing monitoring tools.
3. Industry support
Enable the maintenance and growth of sustainable activities by innovating, structuring and enhancing the offering of tourism organizations and businesses in the Laurentian’ region through our roles as leaders and facilitators committed to the community.
We also encourage tourism organizations and businesses to take part in the Commitment to Sustainable Tourism 2030.
