With a population of 10,662 permanent residents and 122 sq. km of territory, Sainte-Adèle is one of the largest municipalities of the RCM of Pays-d’en-Haut. Located barely 64 km north of Montréal, Sainte-Adèle has experienced a tremendous yet harmonious development, mainly built around the tourist industry. Sainte-Adèle is a unique location for hotels, fine dining, the arts, concerts, summer theatres, the Zénon-Alary museum, a cinema complex, art galleries, festivals, its own carnival and other popular celebrations, pedestrian walks, bicycle trails, horseback riding centres, golf courses, snowmobile trails, cross-country ski trails and three downhill ski centres.     Exhibition of the work of Normand Ménard at Place des citoyens
    February 2, 2017 to February 26, 2017

    Living in Val-David since 1984, Normand Ménard is inspired by the land of his ancestors to create his paintings and sculptures.

    His artistic approach is marked by the creation of totems, inspired by the Amerindian art, but also by some current issues such as immigration, environment and humane conditions.

    Omnipresent in the Laurentian artistic landscape, Normand Ménard has exhibited his work in Mont-Tremblant and has participated in the Val-David Symposium of in-situ art: Jardins du Précambrien, amongst others.

    Exhibition of the work of Manon Sabourin at Place des citoyens

    Manon Sabourin was trained as a chemist and biologist. For her, art represents a way of questioning transgenic breeding but also the future and the development of living species.

    Her main art medium is encaustic, which consists of a blend of bee wax and colour pigments, in which she recently added burned gum lacquer.

    Produced and circulated by the Musée d’art contemporain of Baie-Saint-Paul, this exhibition presents the most important retrospective of the works of this Sainte-Adèle's couple of artists. 

    It brings together numerous works of art from Claude Vermette (art objects, earthenware, inks, watercolours, ceramics) and from Mariette Rousseau-Vermette (tapestries), and gives us a complete look at their artistic carreer.

    Conference : Patrick de Bellefeuille - Climate Change
    April 6, 2017

    Already passionate about communication when he joined the team of the Weather Network in 1988, Patrick de Bellefeuille quickly developed a great interest in the weather and climate change.

    For over 10 years, he has attended many international conferences on the subject, whether as a speaker or as a participant. He also spent several weeks on board the Amundsen, a Canadian icebreaker, that studies the impact of climate changes in the Arctic, with some of the world's top researchers and scientists.

    Since 2005, he gives lectures on the subject to demonstrate the ecological impact of humans on the planet, with the aim of leaving future generations a cleaner planet in better health.
